Dr. Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Osun State, has urged local government staff to remain committed to their duties and continue supporting the current administration.
In a message to local government workers, Ogungbangbe praised the state government for its ongoing efforts to prioritize workers’ welfare in Osun.
The NULGE leader highlighted Governor Ademola Adeleke’s approval of a training workshop for 600 local government employees in Badagry last year, calling it a historic move for the state. “The Governor’s generosity in sponsoring local government employees for workshops has significantly enhanced the capacity of workers,” Ogungbangbe said.
He further acknowledged that his success as NULGE President is closely tied to the Governor’s approval of key initiatives, particularly in worker training and welfare.
Ogungbangbe commended the Adeleke administration for its commitment to improving the conditions of workers and reaffirmed the local government workers’ continued support for the governor’s policies.
Looking ahead, Ogungbangbe called on the state government to prioritize policies that strengthen local government structures in 2025, which he believes is crucial for achieving sustainable development. He emphasized the vital role local governments play in delivering grassroots governance and development across the state.
