Osun Government Declares Public Holiday for Teachers on World Teachers Day

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared today, October 7, a public holiday for teachers in both public and private schools in the state in recognition of World Teachers Day.

The announcement, made by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, highlights the holiday’s purpose: to honor teachers for their significant contributions to education in Osun, Nigeria, and globally.

In a message released for the occasion, Adeleke expressed his gratitude to educators, saying, “I, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, heartily congratulate all teachers throughout the world, particularly in my dear state, Osun, on this annual occasion.” World Teachers Day is celebrated each year on October 5.
