The Osun State House of Assembly has taken a significant step toward improving regulatory oversight in the state by passing two key bills: the Lotteries and Gaming Bill and the Estate Agency Regulatory Authority (Establishment) Bill.
The bills were passed during a plenary session led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, marking another milestone in the assembly’s ongoing legislative work.
The Lotteries and Gaming Bill, sponsored by Egbedun, aims to create the Osun Lotteries and Gaming Board, a body tasked with regulating all aspects of lottery and gaming activities in the state. The bill is designed to ensure transparency, ethical practices, and strict compliance among gaming operators.
Meanwhile, the Estate Agency Regulatory Authority (Establishment) Bill, introduced by Majority Leader Hon. Babajide Kofoworola Adewunmi, seeks to establish the Osun State Estate Agency Regulatory Authority. This new body will oversee the activities of estate agents in the state, ensuring better management and professionalism within the sector.
