The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of taking undue credit for the state’s achievements, claiming that many of the successes were the result of efforts made by the previous administration.
The APC, in a statement issued on Tuesday, alleged that Adeleke, who assumed office in November 2022, has been falsely attributing ongoing projects and developments to his leadership, despite being inherited from the former government led by Gboyega Oyetola.
“We are deeply concerned that Governor Adeleke is taking credit for initiatives that were put in place by the previous administration,” said the APC spokesperson in the statement. “These are not his accomplishments, but rather a continuation of the work we started.”
The APC also criticized Adeleke for what it called “a lack of original achievements” during his tenure so far, urging the governor to focus on creating new projects rather than taking credit for those already in motion. The party emphasized that the people of Osun deserve transparency and accountability from their elected officials.
Governor Adeleke has yet to respond publicly to the APC’s claims.
