Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has praised his Osun State counterpart, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his significant achievements in infrastructure development over the past two years.
Makinde, speaking at the commissioning of the dualisation of the Roundabout-Ilesa Garage Road in Osogbo on Tuesday, commended Adeleke’s efforts to improve infrastructure in Osun. The road project is part of a series of initiatives marking the second anniversary of Adeleke’s administration.
“I encourage you to continue your good work. No government needs an eternity to make an impact,” Makinde said. “Leaders should transcend mediocrity and focus on completing projects started by their predecessors.”
In his address, Governor Adeleke reassured the people of Osun that his administration would continue to prioritize the completion of key infrastructure projects. He emphasized that public projects should be viewed as valuable assets that should not be abandoned due to political differences.
“I directed my team to compile a list of all abandoned projects and develop a plan for their completion,” Adeleke said. “In less than 100 days, we completed the dualisation of the Osogbo-Ikirun road, which now includes solar-powered street lights. The road is open for use.”
Adeleke also urged caution among motorists, citing concerns over rising accidents on newly completed roads. He warned against reckless driving, including overspeeding and one-way driving, which have contributed to a worrying increase in road accidents.
