Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged Nigerians to pray for the country’s ongoing peace and prosperity in his message commemorating the 2023 Independence Day celebration.
Adeleke acknowledged the challenging economic and security conditions facing the nation and called on political, religious, traditional, and business leaders to unite in finding lasting solutions, echoing the vision of the nation’s founders who fought for independence.
“We are currently in a difficult situation; the precarious economic climate is affecting everyone. This is our reality, and we must face it. As leaders, we must collaborate to find lasting solutions, regardless of our cultural, religious, political, and social affiliations,” he said. “We must also seek divine intervention, and I believe in the power of prayer, so I urge everyone to continue praying.”
Adeleke emphasized the importance of reflecting on the purpose behind the vision of Nigeria’s founding fathers. He called for leaders to commit to societal progress while urging citizens to hold them accountable.
“As Governor, I have prioritized transparency and accountability in Osun State’s governance. I have assembled a strong team of professionals from various fields. In line with my open governance agenda, I will host the first edition of IPADE IMOLE in the coming days,” he added.
During the IPADE IMOLE event, Adeleke plans to provide a comprehensive report of his administration directly to the people, emphasizing his commitment to an inclusive government.
“I am determined to honor the trust placed in me by the people of Osun with their votes. By electing me, they sought a responsive and accountable leader who views the office as a privilege,” he stated.
In the spirit of Independence Day, Adeleke urged residents to continue praying for the success of his administration while remaining focused on a development agenda that prioritizes the people and good governance.
