Official manifest detailing activities of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has revealed how he has been governing the state from outside.
From the document obtained exclusively from sources close to Governor’s office, from January 1, 2024 and November 7, 2024, Adeleke has spent cumulatively over 9 months outside the state in the course of the year.
Adeleke has been regular at many social functions across the country, making him to spend most weekends outside the state.
Also during the period under review, the governor also made a trip to France and United States of America, among others.
During the period, Adeleke and his retinue of aides drew close to N1 billion from government coffers in allowances for being outside the state.
Checks by this medium also revealed that whenever Adeleke was not around, Abere Government Secretariat usually record low turnout of workers.
A worker at the White House, being the name of the Osun Governor’s House, who preferred anonymity, said Adeleke maybe delibrately staying outside Osun to enjoy huge allowances that come with such trips.
“It is worrisome. In the last 11 months Adeleke and his aides have stayed outside Osun for over 9 months for various reasons. He made overseas trip during the period.
“He and his aides are also regular faces at social functions across the country dancing at parties, drawing negative comments from people, who felt Adeleke denigrating the state by his actions.
“Whenever he is not around, Government Secretariat usually records low turnout of workers. And all files will go to Ede to the Adeleke family where they would be treated.
“All we have been having in Osun is a governor by proxies. In total, Adeleke and his aides have drawn close to N1billion in less than 11 months,” a worker privy to the governor’s itinerary said.
