Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged indigenes of Osun living in Ondo State to support Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, in the November 16 gubernatorial election.
Adeleke made the appeal on Tuesday during a campaign tour of several local governments in Ondo State alongside Ajayi. The governor’s call comes after Osun indigenes in Ondo publicly declared their support for the PDP candidate.
During the campaign, Adeleke was hosted by Osun indigenes in Akure, the state capital. Speaking to the crowd, he encouraged them to work toward securing a victory for the PDP in the upcoming election.
He also urged the voters to turn out on election day, vote for the PDP, and ensure they remain with their votes. “In just two years in Osun, we have achieved what they failed to do in 12 years. The election is here—go and tell them we are behind your ‘governor’ (Ajayi),” Adeleke said.
The governor emphasized that Ajayi, whom he described as experienced and well-versed in grassroots politics, would bring positive changes to Ondo State. “We’ve brought light to Osun; if we trust in God, everything is possible. Agboola Ajayi has the experience to replicate Osun’s successes here in Ondo,” he added.
Adeleke also expressed his confidence in the PDP’s ability to deliver progress and urged the crowd to vote for the party and remain committed to their votes.
Ajayi, the PDP candidate, thanked the people of Osun for their continued support and promised to bring the benefits of good governance to all of Ondo’s residents if elected.
Kehinde Ayinla, Chairman of the Osun State Indigenes in Ondo, also spoke at the rally, highlighting Ajayi’s deep understanding of the challenges facing both Osun and Ondo States. Ayinla assured the candidate of strong support, with a large turnout expected from Osun indigenes across the 18 local government areas in Ondo.
