In what was described as unfortunate incident by resident and passerby, four travellers was confirmed dead on the spot and more than 18 others sustained serious injuries in a collision accident that occurred in Osun State.
Focus on Osun strongly gathered that the accident occurred at Ikeji-Arakeji along Osun/Ondo Road at the early hour of Friday and has claimed lives and left injured.
According to eye witness, three vehicles including two buses and one truck were involved in the crashes that led to one of the badly burnt while three Corps members were captured stretched out of the bus.
Residents and commuters around the area were wailing. Addressing journalist at the scene of the accident, Osun State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Taofeek Sokunbi, blamed the accident on over-speeding and careless driving.
He said: “The accident truly occurred and it was very unfortunate. Four people died and 20 people were injured. The accident occurred where there was a speed breaker.
“He however, urged drivers to drive carefully on the road because the accident was caused by over-speeding and carelessness on the path of the driver which is avertible. We have always stressed that drivers and road users cannot be more careful hence why are always around to wave them down.
