Adeleke: Critics of My Administration Are Envious of Achievements

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke criticized opponents of his administration on Tuesday, claiming their discontent stems from jealousy over his achievements.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke asserted that his focus on good governance over the past 23 months has prompted envy among critics.

“Governor Adeleke stated that his commitment to delivering public interest has confounded the opposition, which failed miserably during its time in office,” the statement read.

He specifically targeted the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his administration’s successes have left the party feeling bitter.

Adeleke emphasized that his government is dedicated to addressing both major and minor service issues affecting residents, combining broad vision with practical solutions for the benefit of the people.

He suggested that the opposition’s inability to comprehend his administration’s progress has led them to spread misinformation and launch personal attacks. “They are even sinning against God by condemning my praise for the giver of power and life,” he said.

The governor also urged religious institutions to advocate for truth and constructive engagement with political leaders.

“To my critics, I empathize and sympathize with you. When someone succeeds where you fail, it is natural to feel envious or bitter. However, I encourage you to prioritize public interest over personal agendas. For me, success is my only option,” he remarked.

Adeleke asserted that silence from religious leaders is not acceptable, emphasizing the need for them to advocate for free and fair elections, human dignity, and the supremacy of the law.

“Clerics must raise their voices against issues impeding good governance, such as autocracy, dictatorship, corruption, and the failure to meet the people’s aspirations,” he added.
