Governor Ademola Adeleke has distributed millions of naira worth of relief materials to victims of various disasters in all three senatorial districts of Osun State. The initiative is part of his administration’s ongoing commitment to alleviating the suffering of those affected by natural and man-made disasters.

The materials, including rice, garri, maize, roofing sheets, and other building supplies, were handed over during an event at the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) warehouse behind the State Government Secretariat.

In a statement, Hon. Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, said the distribution was overseen by Hon. Emiola Fakeye, Special Adviser to the Governor on OSEMA. Fakeye represented Adeleke at the event.

Alimi’s statement emphasized the governor’s commitment to ensuring that no disaster victim is left without assistance. “Today’s distribution of relief items, valued at several millions of naira, reflects the proactive and responsive approach of the Adeleke administration to emergency management,” Alimi said. “No one affected by disaster will be left behind.”

Adeleke, in his remarks, assured beneficiaries that more relief materials are available and will be distributed in phases to avoid chaos. He emphasized that those who do not receive aid in the first phase will be included in subsequent distributions, which have already been scheduled by OSEMA.

“I want to reassure you that this administration will not forsake you in mitigating the impact of the disasters you have faced,” Adeleke said, urging residents to take preventive measures against future disasters.

He also expressed his gratitude to the OSEMA officials, community leaders, and other partners who helped make the intervention possible. “Together, we will build a resilient Osun State where lives and livelihoods are safeguarded,” Adeleke concluded.

The relief distribution is part of the ongoing efforts by the Imole Osun-led government to provide support to disaster-stricken communities across the state.
