Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved a new work schedule for civil servants in response to rising transportation costs.

The directive, announced in a circular from the Office of the Head of Service, Samuel Aina Ayanleye, was issued by Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, on Tuesday.

In an effort to support workers during challenging economic times, the new schedule establishes the following workdays: civil servants on Grade Level 01 to 10 will work three days a week, while those on Grade Level 12 to 17 will work four days a week.

The circular specifies that this change does not apply to essential personnel, including medical staff, security officers, political appointees, and accounting officers.

Additionally, the governor has approved the continuation of financial palliatives for public servants for the next two months, pending the implementation of a new minimum wage.

All accounting officers in government ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments have been directed to ensure compliance with the new work arrangements.
